About Sarah Ainsworth
Thanks for dropping by! I'm Sarah, a wanderer, and a photographer based in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. I love using my work to create a meaningful connection between viewers and our beautiful planet, and inspiring people to look more closely at the world around them. I aim to create images that bring the viewer a sense of rest in a fast-paced world. I often have my children with me while I'm out shooting; my 6 year old is an excellent spotter of things like flocks of pelicans coming up behind me. You'll see a lot of beach images in my portfolio, as we live near the coast, but now that my last baby is a toddler, I'm starting to wander more again (with the kids this time, rather than alone), and you'll see that reflected in upcoming images, as we begin our quest to visit ALL the US National Parks. I tend to look for vibrant scenes, and MOSTLY edit to create vivid colorful images that look similar to what your eye would see if you were there. Occasionally I take some artistic license with a scene, and you'll find those images in my "Artistic License" collection. You can view more of my portfolio, or commission a specific piece, at www.sarahaphotography.com. I shoot mostly with a Pentax K-1. Older images were created with a Pentax K-20D.
